9 February 1983: My Double

I was in my bedroom and could not sleep because some small animals, perhaps badgers, where noisy on the roof or in the attic above the room. I got up to see what was going on, but because I did not find anything, I returned to my room. But now my bed wasn’t there anymore. I was distraught because of that and looked around. At one wall I saw to my surprise a door to another room. I entered that room, which had the identical shape of my bedroom and which was positioned symmetrically, at a right angle. As I entered that room, I met myself, my double. I was completely baffled and did not know what to do. I also was a bit frightened of becoming psychologically insane. As a sign of friendship and alliance, I gave him my hand. His hands felt very real and warm. Later we sat together and I watched him carefully. Even though he was my double, his face was a bit different from mine: He had a stronger jaw, more hair and no bald patch on the front part of his head. Generally his face was more strongly modulated than mine. He was dressed in white and he looked very strong and good. But at the same time he was transparent and he began to glow inwardly in a bluish, fluorescent, heavenly light. After that, I woke up, but really I only shifted the focus of consciousness to the physical reality because in that dream I was fully awake, or even more than awake. In the first minutes after the dream, I could still feel some vibrations in my body, they were centered in my heart. The dream quality was, at the end, very vivid, real and in luminous colours.
